Bluetooth Control Features

Bluetooth Control makes it possible to control applications on a PC/laptop from an Ericsson or SonyEricsson mobile phone. The tool inserts new menu's on the phone which cause actions to occur, when selected, on the PC/laptop. Example actions provided with the tool are able to control Microsoft Powerpoint, Adobe Acrobat Reader and the windows mouse function. Specific actions as e.g. 'next slide' for Microsoft Powerpoint are executed on the PC/laptop by simulation keyboard keypresses (eg. down-arrow for next slide). Due to the shortcut-key changes for language-specific variants of application, the actions possibly need to be changed for other languages, the examples are tested in the 'English' versions.

The more recent versions of Bluetooth Control (3.x and higher) all support editing of the actual menu-entries, and their related actions, so adapt as you please or as needed (other language?). You can put all your menu-entries in one menu-list (to a max. of 10), it is however possible to load a new menu-list from an entry as well. So you can organize your menu-lists based on the application you want to control. The provided examples have a different list for Microsoft Powerpoint 97 and 2000, as some of the shortcut-keys are different. Some persons prefer the recently introduced 'mouse-control' function. Apart from the mouse-movement a number of other phone-buttons can be defined to perform actions on the PC.

Requirements:

  • Windows (9x, 2000, XP) operating system on the PC/laptop
  • Ericsson or SonyEricsson mobile phone with datacommunication capability
  • Communication between PC/laptop and phone (Serial cable, infra-red or Bluetooth)

Features:

  • Dynamic menu's on the mobile phone, when a menu-entry is selected an action is invoked on the PC/laptop
  • Possible actions: simulate keyboard keypressing and text-strings, start an application with optional parameter entry from the phone
  • Maximize or minimize a window
